It may be worth n...Interesting speculation, Xavier. It may be worth noting that in the first edition of "The Annotated Sherlock Holmes" - the one done by W. S. Baring-Gould - the author cites Sherlockian studies of the possibilities that (a) both Holmes and Moriarty survived Reichenbach; (b) neither Holmes nor Moriarty survived Reichenbach; and (c) only Moriarty survived. Baring-Gould calls these commentators "the Sensationalist School," which I think is fair.
